Air Laos Express, based in Vientiane (VTE), is a feeder airline for its bigger parent company Air Laos. It connects small airports in South East Asia to the network of the Air Laos group.

News:
2016-10: Air Laos (now Air Laos Express) was taken over from Air Taiwan. An initial analysis revealed some major changes would be required to guarantee a long term success. The transition was immediately started, especially as the available funds were dangerously low already and many routes unprofitable.

2016-11: Although an immediate repositioning has been started, it is not sure yet whether the investment into new seats and an improved service will bring the required profitability quickly enough. As a note to all investors, it is yet unsure if we can pay all the outstanding liabilities on time. Initial bookings look promising yet regulatory limitations prohibit an injection of further funds.

2016-11: The bottom of the valley has been crossed and we are again on a steady path upwards. Yields per passenger have risen as have loads. The trimmed network seems to fit our size and the IL with our mother is crucial. The share price has also recovered from a low and our investors seem to have regained confidence.

2016-11: The second week closing after the take over has just been completed and we are proud to announce a profit margin of 21%. This result even includes a couple of bonus payments to our hard working and dedicated staff. We expect next weeks results to be slightly below as we are reducing our staff numbers to fit the current requirements.

2016-11: Finally we also could afford to reduce all surplus staff and have booked expenses of AS$ 570K in this period due to generous severance packages provided. This should get us now on a clear track for future organic growth with a maximized profitability.

2016-11: Our fourth week has finally proven our new strategy to be very successful. A profit of AS$ +600K and a net margin of 37% is a very promising result. The profits will enable us to further growth and investments into our network.

2016-12: The last few weeks allowed us to save enough money to further increase our fleet and we have now introduced our first jet, a CR700 from Bombardier. This allows us to provide even faster connections with better comfort for our clients.
